We had a great drive on April 12 for Matt The Museum of Technology and Innovation in downtown San Jose. We added 26 people to the National Marrow Donor Program registry yesterday, but also had the good fortune of expanding our efforts and awareness with the HelpingTami (helpingtami.org) team and the local media.

Members from both Team Matthew and Helping Tami were interviewed for local media outlets. Hopefully we can keep up the coverage to promote greater awareness of our cause and find Matt, Tami, and others in need matching donors!

It was a great having the opportunity to meet Stacie, Tami’s cousin and the marketing powerhouse behind HelpingTami (helpingtami.org). Whereas we’ve been focusing more on online social networking outlets and local churches/organizations, Stacie’s been using various other outlets and has been extremely helpful to our team by providing us with tips and collateral (e.g. business cards, signs, etc) to help make our drives more successful!
We’re extremely grateful for all the volunteers the HelpingTami team sent out, and look forward to partnering with them again for future drives.

Team Matthew is having a drive in San Jose this Sunday, April 19th and we need your help!! We are hoping to have a big turnout, so we’re trying to get all help we can get.

We will be needing volunteers from 10:30pm-3:30pm at Lion Supermarket located at the corner of Capitol Expressway and McLaughlin, San Jose, CA. I hope you all have received communication of the event through the website, Facebook, MySpace, and/or Twitter by now. So the first way you can help – please FORWARD that message to as many of your friends and family as possible. =) Second of all, we need people to help set up and run the drive. To help us better coordinate, please respond to us by tomorrow night if you are planning to help out.
